NFL Superfan Details

DirecTV is marking third quarter of 2008 with a great deal on their NFL Sunday Ticket plan. The regular season for the NFL doesn’t start until September, but training camp starts in late July for most NFL teams, and the pre-season games start in August. Maybe you have passed on the Sunday Ticket deal in the past. If so, now is the time to find the best deals out there, as this is the start of the busy time of year for DirecTV.

In most cases, most viewers will see four or five games a week on network television, the Sunday morning and afternoon games, the Sunday Night game on NBC, and then Monday night football.

Now if you live in the area where “your” home team plays, you can usually see your team play on network TV. However, if you don’t live in that market, you would have to make a trip down to the local bar to watch your team’s game. Since DirecTV began the Sunday Ticket package a few years ago, you can always see your home team, from the comfort of your own house.

While out of area fans make up a strong base for the NFL Sunday Ticket, there are other fans that need this package as well. Fantasy football enthusiasts have been subscribing to the package, as it lets them check in on their fantasy players at any time. Another group buying up the package is those who may have a little money on NFL games. They love the Direct TV Sunday Ticket as it lets them keep up on who covers the point spread.

What about price? In past years, the NFL Sunday Ticket cost has been around $250 per season, billed over 4 monthly installments. This year’s price for existing DirecTV subscribers will be almost $300 dollars. Those who sign up in time get a $20 discount.

New Direct TV subscribers can take advantage of the offer on the Sunday Ticket. Current specials bill the same price $74.99 per month for 4 months, with a great start up bonus. New customers signing up for NFL Ticket can get the Direct TV Premier package free for 4 months.  If you want the Superfan package add on though, you will have to pay an extra $100 for HD.  This is DirecTV’s top end package, with 265 stations, 35 sports stations, and also free movie channels.

Free DVR service is also included and a Direct TV DVR upgrade rounds out this great offer on dish TV service.

AT&T U-verse Now Offers HD

These days folks are looking to maximize their entertainment dollar. Increasing fuel prices, a slowing economy, and high food costs are putting the squeeze on Americans. Fortunately, one of the great values in entertainment is your cable or satellite TV service.

If you stop and think about it, anyone can get a bundle including over 100 stations including premium movie channels like HBO and Starz for about $80 dollars a month. That is less than you usually spend for dinner and a movie. The latest and greatest in the pay TV market is HD, or high definition service. What should you consider when hooking up that new Hi-def TV you just purchased?

Don’t forget that your basic cable television or satellite TV service is not in HD. You must specifically purchase a programming package that features this type of programming. So where do you start?

Call your current provider and find out exactly what they can do as far as hi-def service. Satellite television companies DISH Network and Direct TV have been leading the charge as far as providing the most HD when you examine channel counts. Cable television providers like Cox also have some great offerings, such as HD on-demand. Ask exactly how much upgrading to hi-def will cost, and if you need to buy additional equipment. Comparing with satellite TV DVR units is important.

If what they are offering is not what you need, do a little comparison shopping. The newest deals include an all HD package from DISH Network called TurboHD. DirecTV sells HD service for just $9.99 a month. Prices are different with cable television companies across America, so you will have to call your local operator to see what the cost will be for high definition.

Another factor to consider is that most telephone companies now offer television service. AT&T now provides their U-Verse service in many areas along with voice and high speed internet. Verizon is also selling television service, offering their fiber to the home service FiOS in limited neighborhoods. It is advisable that you compare different services side-by-side, such as DirecTV vs. AT&T U-verse. These developments are a benefit to the consumer, as more competition encourages low prices in the end.

New Dish Network Special Deals

In today’s economy, pay television subscribers are looking for every way possible to stretch their dollar. One area you may want to consider is your cable television bill, as rates continue to rise in this industry. An alternative to evaluate is satellite television service, specifically either DIRECTV or Dish TV and the choices they offer today.

Dish Network is the second largest satellite TV company, with nearly 14 million subscribers. Because of the heated competition in the pay television market, Dish Network offers great deals to new customers, in the hopes that they will become a long-time subscriber.

So where should you search to find the best satellite TV deals? The world wide web of course is a great place to begin investigating satellite television offers. Currently, Dish Network is offering a promotion which can get you started with satellite TV for just 9.99 per month. Of course the customer should be aware that this is a promotional price on the Classic 100 bundle, which is normally priced at 34.99 per month. In addition, local channels are not included in this price, so expect to pay an additional $5 or so for local programming.

Now many consumers today are in the market for an all-inclusive satellite TV bundle? The item that would fit the bill in this case would be the America’s Everything Pak, which is offered at a promotional price of $72.98 for six months, and $97.98 per month after that. Included here is every cable television channel you can think of, like 31 commercial free premium movie channels like Showtime. Another great option is the Classic Silver package, offered at around $50 per month, with a $25 discount for the first six months of service.

Another nice thing about satellite TV is that most of the equipment needed is provided for free. From the satellite dish to the HD DVR, Dish Network will set you up. Generally, you will only incur upfront costs if you desire to have multiple DVR units. In addition, the satellite TV installation process is a snap, offering free installation in up to four rooms in your home.

Why not check out the Dish TV deals available and compare them the latest Direct TV satellite deals with what you currently pay for cable TV. Odds are you will be surprised at how much cheaper satellite TV costs.

Comparing Comcast vs DIRECTV

Ever since the invention of the television, it has been the top media outlet in society today. In the United States alone, there are millions of people who rely on their TV for both information from news and entertainment from daily scheduled programming. Today, a popular method of TV broadcasting is done via cable networks.

Cable television or CATV was commonly used in mountainous regions where broadcast signals are weak, so they used coaxial cables to broadcast television programming. Today, it is a common television service and in the United States there are a lot of cable providers to choose from. Unfortunately though in most areas, you will just have one cable TV company serving your area, so if you want something different, you will have to go with satellite TV. This is not always a bad thing, its a good idea to line up the companies side by side, comparing Comcast vs DirecTV satellite.

The biggest cable company in the United States is Comcast, it is by far the company with the most subscribers. It also offers internet service and is currently in second place and fourth place in providing telephone service. Unfortunately, they have a reputation for having the worst customer service among any company or government agency in the United States. Next is the Cox cable company which is owned by Cox enterprises. They have nearly 6 million customers to their cable service, internet and home phone service. They are currently the third biggest cable company in the United States. The third largest in terms of revenue is Charter TV company. In terms of revenue, they are behind only from Timewarner and Comcast. Then we have Bright House cable which is the sixth largest cable company. Most of these companies now also offer local and long distance phone service.

Many are satisfied with the Comcast basic cable packages, however if these do not catch your fancy you can also turn to satellite TV companies like Dishnetwork who also provides high definition or HD service for those who want it. The only problem being it is sometimes difficult to get satellite TV in your condo

Direct TV or Dish Network Satellite Packages

In the early 1990s, satellite television was first introduced to the market. It was understandable that only a few people actually went out of their way to get their hands on a satellite dish. After all, the dish was a lot more expensive just as its size was considered large and intrusive.

At the time, people also used it to have access to channels from around the world or channels that were not meant for mass viewing. The interesting thing though, people did not readily get these channels. They had to look for those signals that is usually by chance alone.

This is not the case these days. If you want a particular channel, all you have to do is subscribe to a direct broadcast satellite provider or DBS provider. A DBS provider, such as Direct TV or Dish TV, is the one who chooses the channels from the programming sources and brings it to your television sets. Simply sign up, an installer comes out and puts up a satellite dish for you and connects it to all of your television sets inside the home. Usually, you can have as many as four different rooms set up to receive satellite TV signals. This is quite an advantage when comparing DIRECTV and Dish TV packages.

Satellite TV is not only limited to the number of channels you can have. There is also a satellite HD that feeds apt programs for your hi definition television set. HDTV has a bigger resolution that gives way to maximum viewing pleasure. These shows also come with surround sound that pretty much takes the cake for TV and home theatre fans alike. Best of all, there are so many DIRECTV deals out there today. Spanish speaking customers can take advantage of the Direct TV Mas bundles.

The pleasures it brings takes it to another level with the arrival of the technology of a DVR. A DVR is a recording device meant for television programs. This device gives full control over live television that fanatics no longer have to worry about missing their most wanted shows. Truly a great way catch up on what you might miss on DirecTV.

If you’re a cable TV subscriber, your service provider most likely carries around 20 to 50 channels in HD. But if you have access to satellite television, chances are you’re enjoying up to 100 channels that have nice crisp pictures and flawless reception.

At this time, not even the largest cable companies such as Comcast, Time Warner, Brighthouse, Cox Cable and Charter Cable can match up to DirecTV’s 130+ channels you can watch on HD. By the end of the year, DirecTV projects satellite TV subscribers will be watching up to150 channels in high definition. Put that HDTV to good use and maximize your viewing experience through satellite dish TV!

View More, Pay Less.

The pro-con list could go on and satellite would still emerge superior to its cable counterpart. However, it all boils down to this: You get to see more for a price that won’t burn holes in your pocket. With satellite, you get more features, more movies, more music, more cartoons, more sports, more HD! You’ll receive more of almost everything each and every month. Great sports programming like the NBA League package are also available for an extra charge. What more could you ask for?

Most cable providers charge you up to 0 for sending out a technician to gear up your television sets. Satellite TV providers Dish Network and DirecTV offer free installation and setup in order to make things easy. You no longer have to worry about reading the fine print or fees that cable companies (over)charge one time or monthly.

Multi-media Experience.

Radio on TV?! The boundaries of media are once again broken, but in a good way. Subscription to Dish Network gives you access to Sirius Satellite, so you can listen to the best music all day long once you’re tired of watching tv.

However, satellite services from Dish Network and DirecTV program packages that will cater to all members of the family. Dish Network vs Cable

Cable TV deals aren’t hard to find, that is as long as you aren’t already a subscriber to Comcast or Time Warner.

The reason for that is due to the fact the cable TV company wants to build their customer base, so of course they are willing to give you a good deal, generally for the first year of your cable service. The cable provider figures if you get service from them, you probably will set up a with one of their bundled packages that includes not only cable television, but also home phone and internet setup.

You can usually get a triple play bundle for just per month for the first year. Consider the following example with cable company pricing: Basic TV costs a month, high speed internet is per month, and phone service is a month. With prices like this, your overall bill would be 0 per month before taxes and fees that always seem to find their way onto your cable bill.

But it is good to consider how this could turn out down the road Well think about where you will be once the promo is over. Then you will have all of your TV’s connected to the cable company, your internet connection including your e-mail account through the cable company, and of course your home line through the cable company as well. But all at once your price goes up nearly 50%, from around $100 every month to $140+ every month. Now is it easy to switch?

Maybe, maybe not. The best thing to do beforehand is compare companies before making your final decision. One would be smart to compare Dish TV vs Suddenlink cable before making a hasty decision.

While you might logically say it is not a problem to switch to some kind of deal from DirecTV or something else from your local phone company like Verizon FiOS. That is easier said than done, however. Often the time and hassle involved with switching from cable to a different provider makes the customer stay with whatever service they have. Even though the monthly bill is high, the customer stays because they have all the services on the same bill from the same provider. That is what the cable television company counts on when giving the subscriber a good short term deal.

Comparing Time Warner vs Direct TV

One of the best things about modern cable and satellite television is the explosion of sports programming now available to customers across the country. Many years ago you would only see a couple of college football games on Saturday and two or three on Sunday today you can pick from dozens of games every weekend with specialized sports packages. Even the NCAA tournament has additional coverage with the Mega March Madness on Direct TV.

The motto today is “Content is King” and as the saying goes the sports networks of course want to deliver as much content as possible to the end user so they can make more money on ads. Quite a few brand new all-sports networks have sprung up in the last few years. Some of these include Altitude Sports, which carries Denver Nuggets and the NHL’s Colorado Avalanche games, and also the Big 10 network and the Mtn, the network of the Mountain West conference.

Sure these networks are great for people in certain parts of the nation, but disputes between the providers of sports programming and cable networks that deliver the content have resulted in trouble at times to the customer. For example, the Big Ten Network began broadcasting in 2007, but they were in a carraige dispute with big cable provider Time Warner. Subscribers of Time Warner in the midwest were unable to watch some of the home town teams play because of the carraige dispute. Finally however, the parties came to an agreement before the 2008 season, so subscribers could stay with Time Warner instead of having to switch to one of the satellite television providers like DISH Network or Direct TV. An important thing to do when considering providers is to consider all factors, comparing Time Warner or DirecTV.

Specialized sports programming packages are another option hard core sports fans should consider. Some Dish Network customers have switched providers because the NFL Sunday ticket is exlusively with DirecTV. This has upset some pay television subscribers, who do not understand why a package Sunday Ticket isn’t available to every provider, especially a bicompany like Time Warner. Other packages though are more fan friendly, such as the National Hockey League Center Ice and the NBA League Pass, which are available on almost every cable TV and satellite provider. Direct TV seems to have all of the premium sports packages like the NFL Sunday Ticket package.

More HD With Direct TV

We have been wanting to get away from Comcast for a long time. The problem is they suck you in with their packages that include telepone, internet, and cable television service. When you want to remove one, you lose the savings of the bundle.

But the cable TV service just needs to go, as the service and quality is well below par. There is so much discussion today about HD, there just wasn’t much of that with Charter Cable. So I started researching who else was available in my area.

I am fortunate to be one of the folks who have a couple of choices. Unlike a few subscribers who can only pick from either the cable company or Direct TV satellite service, I have another provider in my region. The old telephone company in this area has been upgrading the telephone network. So now I have an additional player with Verizon and their FiOS service.

That doesn’t of course mean I won’t have the same problems. It would put someone in the same boat as with the cable company, because phone company want customers to package their TV setup with internet and voice service. If the deal is good, customers will be pleased. But if its not you are in the same circumstance that we all hate, being stuck with cable TV that isn’t all that great.  So I’m doing a side by side comparison, Direct TV vs cable so I make the right choice.

The evaluations I found are fairly good on telecom television service. Because it is brand new, there is sometimes a risk with a service like this, and some people share their bad reviews. Those reviews are the quite amusing, simply for the reason people decide to write a dissertation on their horrible experience and post it on the web. Unhappy customers badmouth the company like it is some giant conspiracy to make the customer unhappy, like the company does not want our money!

Another option I am looking into is of course satellite TV. Since we have five television watchers in the home, we usually buy a premium TV package. The satellite TV choices seem to be pretty comparable, as the DirecTV Premier package and the America’s Everything Pak by Dish Network are each about $105 per month. Yes that’s fairly pricey for pay TV, but when you make the comparison with treating your family to supper and a movie, the entertainment value is comparable. Some in my family speak Spanish, so the DIRECTV Mas programming package looks like a winner. The good thing is that there are lots of Direct TV opinions to help me decide which direction to take.
